Dive Bars

Lost Kangaroo Pub (Downtown)

Lost Kangaroo is a Bradenton Institution. Established about 20 years ago across from the current place. The owner’s dad was the founder of Woody’s River Roo Palmetto / Ellenton (another Institution out east). Here in Downtown, no Food, just pure booze. Beer, wine and lot’s of spirits. Tip your waiter and you will not leave un-intoxicated.

Inside and cool outside seating in the heart of Downtown Bradenton. Forget Sarasota for a dive bar. And it is the real deal.

Pool, pinball machines and more. A few tourists, mostly locals and Delila (the Doggie on the bar stool). This is the place where the young crowd is meeting on Fridays and Saturdays after 10pm.

Bar open till 2.30am. Smoking allowed inside and out. You can order food from Pizzeria across the street (closes early) or other places in downtown Bradenton. This place has about 50 taps, including German beers (Paulaner Hefe-Weizenbier and Köstrizer) as well as UK imports (Guiness and Old Spekled Hen) and more on tap!

Get down Downtown street festival every month, however you might end up getting your beer in a plastic cup at events. So not for beer lovers then… But live music though.

Banana Factory (Bayshore)

Bradenton’s favorite food and drink joint

Great indoor drinks and live music. Smoking allowed and they do serve food. Not just food. Outstanding exceptional food made by Papa Ron. Actually Papa Ron served at the now gone Ace Lounge until 2015. Reasonable great food. Prices are outstanding and portions are very huge.

Tell Papa Ron you found it on www.suncoastvacation.com

Take advantage of their happy hour until 7 on weekdays.

Bunny & Pirates Pub (Cortez)

Bunny & Pirates is located in a building that dates back to 1947 and used to be a bar. After being home to several shops during recent decades, it became Bunny & Pirates a couple of years ago, offering a cozy pub inside as well as an adorable beer garden in the back that often hosts live music. There’s also a marketplace with grab-n-go food items, gift shop and the Skullywag’s Coffee Bar. Plus, in the evening there’s “What’s For Dinner?” — a one-item menu of fun foods that pair nicely with a beer or wine.

Annie’s Bait and Tackle (Cortez)

Now, here’s where you go to truly and eat and drink like a local, especially a local who loves to boat and fish. One of the last full-service bait and tackle shops around, Annie’s is also a great place to grab a grouper sandwich and cold beer while dining dockside on the Intracoastal Waterway near the base of the Cortez Bridge.
